A 3-year-old kid was hit by a van on Chicago’s Southwest Side Tuesday night after running into the road while pursuing a puppy.
Chicago police say the mishap happened shortly before 7 p.m. in the 6900 square of North Talman Avenue.
The kid was taken to Holy Cross Hospital by the van’s driver and his granddad, who was with him at the time of the mishap, said the kid’s mom Evelina Matthews.
Matthews, who was at work when the occurrence happened, said her child was placed in a medically induced coma and was being transferred to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn for more treatment.
